Join us for an exciting day that unpacks the multifaceted intersections of digital technology and education.

This hybrid higher degree by research (HDR) symposium offers a platform for emerging PhD scholars to engage in critical and timely discussions on a wide range of issues such as digital agency, AI in education, digital learning, digital citizenship and digital governance.

Themes

The symposium will address the following themes:

  • Approaches: Theories and methods for researching technology and education. This may include papers that outline novel methodologies, research designs, and theoretical frameworks.
  • Industries: How education technologies are designed, developed, and governed. For example, this may include papers on the platformisation of education, educational leadership and policy in the digital age, and the EdTech industry.
  • Practices: How people use and engage with technology in contexts of teaching and learning. For example, this may include studies of formal learning settings (such as higher ed or schools), informal learning settings (such as community spaces or the home), or studies of particular groups of learners or educators (such as children, parents, or teachers).

In addition to research presentations, the event features a special panel discussion focused on post-PhD career pathways, offering valuable insights for PhD students preparing for their future careers. You can download the program here (PDF, 777kb) and read the panellist’s biographies below.
