We invite you to celebrate the launch of Disability and Higher Education: Theory~Practice Coherence (Routledge), a timely new book exploring how higher education can better support inclusion by reimagining disability, difference, and inherent requirements.
Disability and Higher Education encourages university administrators and educators to think in new ways about how to work inclusively with disabled students, specifically examining how inherent requirements are deployed in higher education. Moving away from medicalised, deficit-based views, the authors introduce cutting-edge theories as alternate ways of knowing and engaging with difference in order to advance inclusive higher education policy and practice.
The book’s author’s, Associate Professors Tim Corcoran (Deakin University) and Ben Whitburn (University of Southampton), will discuss their aspirations for the book and respond to insights provided by a panel of leading thinkers in educational equity and inclusion.
