Eight REDI members contribute to prestigious British handbook

The British Educational Research Association (BERA) has released the latest edition of the BERA-Sage Handbook of Research-Informed Education Practice and Policy, which features detailed examinations of educational policies, practices, and research methodologies by a truly diverse group of scholars from around the world, including eight REDI members and their collaborators.

One of the most pressing issues facing communities around the world is how to improve education and enhance people’s lives. Education research is crucial in identifying effective practices and policies that lead to improvements in education and educational outcomes and the Handbook presents a unique new picture of education worldwide.

REDI researchers – Michiko Weinmann, Maria Nicholas, Elizabeth Rouse, Shaun Rawolle, Julianne Moss, Glenn Auld, Tim Corcoran and Joanne O’Mara have contributed chapters that focus on a range of cutting edge issues such as postmonolingual research-informed education policies; international comparisons on reading education practices; and outlining ways to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student success in their education. These contributions underscore the importance of implementing education and practice that is informed by research and the global nature of the research being carried out by REDI researchers

The BERA-Sage Handbook of Research-Informed Education Practice and Policy promises to be an invaluable resource for those wanting to understand and implement research-informed education.
